FAQ

Why does the IRS require reporting of a balance sheet for corporations and partnerships?

A reconciliation is done on the 1120 for differences in tax and book retained earnings. In order to do this all the information has to be included. What makes up income and expenses and the balance sheet. Since there might be some expenses that can’t be deducted for tax purposes and other temporary and permanent differences in book and tax deductions, there will be differences in tax income and book income. This needs to be done every year to account for the differences. Everything has to be accounted for.

What is the farthest human-made object?

The farthest human-made object is also the fastest human-made object.Cast into space on September 5, 1977, from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral, Florida. And mounted on a Titan IIIE/Centaur launch vehicle, Voyager 1 is now the farthest human-made object from Earth at 17,922,521,702 km (119.80465777 au).  It takes light about 16 Hours and 10 minutes to reach Earth From Voyager-1.  It is also traveling away from both the Earth and the Sun at a relative speed faster than any human-made object, at a velocity of 17,087 m/s (38,200 mph, 61,400 km/h).    At current velocity and trajectory Voyager-1 will arrive at Proxima Centaur in 73,600 years on the way and in about 40,000 years it will pass to about 1.6 light years of the Star AC+79 3888 in the constellation Camelopardalis.  At current velocity It takes Voyager-1 14,000 years to travel one light year. From Earth Voyager-1 is located at 12.44° declination and 17.163 hours right ascension, and 34.9° of ecliptic latitude.  This puts in the constellation Ophiuchus which is the apparent center of our Milky Way Galaxy. The current distance Voyager-1 is calculated in realtime from NASA here, http://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/Message In A BottleIf per chance future explorers discover Voyager-1, there is a “message in a bottle” that humanity has casted hopefully in to space,  the Voyager Golden Record.Attached to the outer body of Voyager-1 is a Gold Record Disc as a monumental notice to the future. Created before the era of the personal computer, the best minds at NASA Encoded on the disk 115 images and a variety of natural sounds, such as those made by surf, wind and thunder, birds, whales, and other animals, 90-minute selection of music including both Eastern and Western classics and a variety of ethnic musical selections, and spoken greetings from Earth-people in fifty five languages.  "Dark was the night" by Blind Willie JohnsonThe record contains spoken greetings, in Akkadian, which was spoken in Sumer about six thousand years ago, and ending with Wu, a modern Chinese dialect.Greetings in fifty five languages. The record is encased in a protective aluminum jacket, together with a cartridge and a needle. Instructions, in symbolic language, explain the origin of the spacecraft and indicate how the record is to be played. The 115 images are encoded in analog format. The remainder of the record is in analog audio, designed to be played at 16-2/3 revolutions per minute. A Hopeful Image Encoded On Voyager 1's Record1970's NASA Technology, Still WorkingVoyager-1 is still operational even with it's 1970s era technology.  Most of the experiments have been disabled.  The radioactive power plant is scheduled to continue producing power for at least another 5 years, but it could well last another decade.  Voyager-1 still sends back data to the 3 tracking facilities just to let us know the tiny transmitter is still operational.  The Voyager Interstellar Mission is currently funded for the next few years.   Voyager 1's Valentine Gift To Humanity, The Family PortraitOn Feb. 14, 1990 Voyager 1, on it's way out of the Solar System, turned back around one last time and took 60 pictures from a distance of about 4 billion miles with a camera that is far less powerful than one found in even the most modest cell phone.  Each individual pixel took five painstaking hours to arrive at Earth.  I think this may be one of the most powerful images in human history. Family Portrait Showing The 60 FramesIndividual Frames Of The Family Portrait Showing Each Planet From 4 billion Miles AwayA 4 Billion Mile PerspectiveVoyager-1 is our family's most intrepid explorer extending our journey over the largest mountain we have thus far scaled, sending back news and tales of it's very long and lonely trek.  From 4 Billion miles away the inner planets are huddled around the Sun for warmth much like how our ancient family found refuge at a camp fire at night.  From 4 Billion miles away Voyager 1 cannot detect any of the differences between water and land,  Country Lines or Cultural lines nor can it detect the marginal differences of the entirety of the human population of Earth and it's other inhabitants.  From 4 Billion miles away, not only our planet, but the entire Solar System looks like one extended family making its way through the dark.If through human, non human or natural processes, humanity does not survive, our space probes like Voyager-1 will stand as a testament for millions of years making one very profound statement:  For at least one moment in our short history we over came astounding obstacles and almost insurmountable odds, and projected our inherent curiosity and need for discovery in to the universe. We were here.

What happened on your first day at IIT?

One of the most memorable moment of my IIT life.My first class in IIT.As any fresher, my mind was bubbling with many questions. How tough will be the studies, How strict will be IIT professors, Who will be my batch-mates ....But the most frequent and most puzzling question was; how many and how beautiful girls will be in my class. In IIT, girls to boys ratio was very bad. In our batch of around 500 we had only about 50 girls. With this statistic we roommates discussed the possibility to have a beautiful girl in our class. With very good control over probability we easily calculated very rare chances of this favorable outcome but human mind always try to rationalize and hope for the positive outcome, no matter how impossible the outcome is.With crossed fingers, with hope for favorable outcome I started the journey for my first class in IIT. There was a clear instruction from seniors, not to use lift but use only stairs. My class was on 4th floor. We gathered near the lift and discussed should we use stairs or lift. Some of us feel that climbing 4 floors is itself a punishment and used lift and others thought it is not worth to take risk and used stairs. I was in the lazy & risky group and chose the lift.In the lift, there was a very beautiful girl; she was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. When I saw her, I began to pray she should be in my class. With the fear that she may be a senior, I just had a few glimpses of her cute face. Both of us got out of lift on 4th floor. I got some hope.We started walking toward the classes and I was just few steps behind her. Then she entered a room. I checked the room number and it was the same room where my first class was planned. I got so excited and I was likeWow she is in my class. She is in my class. She is in my class. After controlling my excitement I entered the room. What I saw in the room I didn't believe. She was standing next to black board and taking attendance of the students. At that moment all my hopes broke down. She was a PHD student and Teaching Assistant.

How is a day being an IPS officer goes?

It is very interesting one. On hearing from others i am telling.Daily he wakes up in early morning and takes walking ,, meditation etc. to make body, mind and soul fitness. 2.He studies the messages received in the late night 3.he studies tapals and gives instructions. In morning he attends office at about 0900 and works till 2 pm. He meets visitors, subordinates and gives solutions. then he goes to lunch and takes rest and comes back to office about 4 pm. Again he acts on the matters received and goes to home office about 10 00 p .m. These are general routine works. Besides, he visits, inspects stations under his control according to scheduled programme. Apart from that he rushes to the needy spots , where his presence is required. Sometimes he will do and supervise night patrol between 10 00 pm and 04 00 a .m. He will rush to welcome vvips on any time. If any serious law and order , crime problems , he attends .He finds no times to spend with family. He will be always in hurry, angry and restless mood only.He is provided a office attached home ,also where from he operates in his spare time.Generally speaking, unlike other officers, it is difficult to pass on one day peacefully for an IPS officer. The same thing holds for the officers from SI to SP

What do you think of the upcoming H1B/L1 executive order?

A quick snap of what I read from the order!“Within 90 days from the order, the officials are instructed to review all immigration program regulations and rescind those of which violate the immigration laws or are otherwise not in the national interest”. - There will be more stringent rules and regulations.“Ensure the H1B beneficiaries are the best and the brightest!” - So, more terrible interviews will be conducted to ensure that you qualify for this kind of visa.“From 180 days of this order, start performing visits at places of employment of L1 non-immigrant workers (Within two years expand that inspection to all job-based visas, including H1B), including third-party worksites where L-1 workers have been placed by the U.S employers that petitioned for them.” - Regular inspection is scheduled so that, L1 visa will be more scrutinized.“The Secretary of Labor shall initiate an investigation of any injury of U.S workers caused by employment in the United States of foreign workers admitted under non-immigrant visa programs, and submit a report within 18 months (Submit an initial report about the affected U.S employees in 9 months.” - Disney unemployment case investigation I believe. You can read full order copy, at the URL given belowExecutive Order on Protecting American Jobs and Workers by Strengthening the Integrity of Foreign Worker Visa ProgramsHope this helps..
